Moin and hello…
How nice that you’ve found the way to Paule’s homepage. When we made the decision to invite a four-legged companion into our home, only two things were certain: He needed to fit into an active family and come from a reputable breeder. The internet promised that a golden retriever would be a perfect fit. But after researching and studying the different retriever breeds it quickly became clear that it simply had to be a flatcoat.
Once the wheels were set into motion we placed our trust in two exceptional breeders: Marion Bartsch and Eric Fehrs, owners of the kennel Erix. When Paule moved in with us he turned our lives upside-down with his flattie shenanigans and we quickly realised that he was exactly what we had always been missing in our lives.
Shortly after, the retriever scene began enthralling our family who had previously known dogs only from TV. We went to puppy get-togethers and started dummy work and man-trailing. Since Paule began showing his pretty side more often, we could no longer keep it hidden from the world. So we embarked on a new mission: aquiring a breeding license. Tests were passed and numerous dog shows were attended. And despite all the excitement, family time always remains our top priority - most of the year Paule simply lives a perfectly normal dog’s life.
About Paule…
Paule stole our hearts at first sight. Him running us over, lying in the way, cleaning the couch table with his waggly tail, or taking a bath in every muddy puddle or pit never bothered us. The constant insistence on running through our legs has only helped to increase our family’s sense of balance. His excellent hearing deserves an honorable mention as well, as even the most careful attempt at opening the fridge or the treat cupboard is bound to cause him to appear immediately.
Paule loves his dog pals. He couldn’t care less about colour, size or gender - all that matters is whether they like running and being licked all over (don’t underestimate a flattie’s tongue, it always finds a way).
He is our shining star. To say it with Heinz Rühmann’s words: Of course one can live without a dog - it’s just not worth it.
